AI Data Centers Collaborate with Nuclear Technology
Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Oklo (NYSE: OKLO) have formed a strategic partnership aimed at developing nuclear solutions to address the soaring energy demands of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. The collaboration, announced recently, will leverage Nvidia’s simulation and modeling tools along with research from Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) to refine nuclear fuel development for small modular reactors designed by Oklo.
The priority for the partnership includes using AI models to analyze plutonium-bearing fuels and improve reactor performance. Oklo’s reactors promise to deliver hundreds of megawatts of carbon-free energy, addressing capacity and reliability issues that current renewable sources struggle to meet. As the demand for AI continues to grow, this alliance may represent a pivotal shift in how power is generated for next-generation data centers.
