Wheat Experiences Minor Pullback on Wednesday

The wheat market saw declines on Wednesday, with Chicago SRW futures closing down 3.5 cents, while KC HRW futures fell between 4.75 to 7.75 cents. MPLS spring wheat also dropped 4 to 4.25 cents across most contracts.

During the Kansas Wheat Quality Tour, Day 1 in northern Kansas reported an average yield of 38.3 bushels per acre (bpa), marking the lowest yield total since the tour began in 2023, compared to 50.5 bpa last year. Day 2 will focus on the central and southwest regions of the state.

Looking ahead, USDA’s Export Sales report is expected on Thursday, with estimates for 2025/26 sales ranging from 50,000 to 150,000 metric tons. France’s soft wheat exports are projected at 7.75 million metric tons within the EU and 7.25 million metric tons outside the EU, showing a slight increase from April estimates.
