Cotton Prices Decline Overall on Wednesday

Cotton futures experienced losses on July 26, 2023, with the July contract closing at 81.6 cents, down 73 points, and December 2026 and March 2027 contracts also posting declines of 20 and 13 points, respectively. The US dollar index rose by $0.304, reaching 99.570, while crude oil saw a drop of $5.07 amid advancing negotiations between the US and Iran.

On May 19, 2023, the Cotlook A Index increased by 300 points to 90.65 cents, with ICE certified cotton stocks remaining stable at 203,403 bales as of May 18. The Adjusted World Price rose by 228 points over the previous week, reaching 71.87 cents per pound.
