Nvidia’s Strategic Investments in AI

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) reported a significant increase in its investment portfolio, reaching approximately $18.4 billion by the end of Q1 2023. During this period, the company invested $3.8 billion into two AI stocks, including a 95% increase in its stake in CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV), which is now valued at over $3.65 billion. CoreWeave is focused on expanding its AI data center capabilities, targeting more than 5 gigawatts of development by 2030.

Additionally, Nvidia formed a new partnership with Coherent (NYSE: COHR), committing $2 billion to facilitate research and development of advanced photonic products crucial for AI infrastructure. This collaboration is integral as the demand for data movement in AI systems escalates, with Coherent’s stock skyrocketing nearly 370% over the past year.
