Ford Motor Company is recalling 419,967 vehicles in the US due to a seat belt defect affecting the driver and front-passenger belts. The recall encompasses select 2018–2022 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator models. The issue involves pretensioners that may unintentionally lock, jeopardizing passenger safety during a collision. Ford has documented two warranty claims, two field reports, and one injury linked to this defect.
Owners will receive notification by mail and can arrange for a free inspection and replacement of affected components at their local Ford or Lincoln dealership. Additionally, Ford is recalling approximately 4,600 Bronco Sport and Maverick vehicles from model years 2021–2026 for a separate suspension defect that may heighten crash risk.
