Bill Gross, the former head of PIMCO, was ousted from the bond investment firm in 2014, which he had built into the largest of its kind globally. His successor, Dan “the Beast” Ivascyn, has since managed the firm and has been recognized for delivering consistent returns with lower maintenance.
The PIMCO Dynamic Income Fund (PDI) currently offers a substantial 15.8% annual dividend yield, translating to an income of $15,800 annually for a $100,000 investment. Over the last fiscal year, the fund covered approximately 90% of its payouts with net investment income. PDI invests in various securities, including high-yield debt and mortgage bonds, but also carries a level of volatility and currently trades at a 5.9% premium to net asset value.
Another option, the PIMCO Dynamic Income Opportunities Fund (PDO), offers an 11.7% annual dividend yield and is more stable, covering 93% of its dividends with investment income and trading at a modest 2.6% premium to net asset value.
