SpaceX Prepares for Upcoming IPO with Ambitious AI Strategy

SpaceX is set to launch its initial public offering (IPO) with a targeted valuation of $1.77 trillion. The company’s prospectus highlights a staggering total addressable market (TAM) estimated at $28.5 trillion, with $26.5 trillion attributed exclusively to its artificial intelligence (AI) division, which is still in its early stages.

Last year, SpaceX allocated around $20 billion for capital expenditures, with nearly $13 billion dedicated to AI. Predictions suggest that these expenditures could escalate to $360 billion by 2030, and potentially to $732 billion by 2031, primarily for AI initiatives. However, Goldman Sachs forecasts that SpaceX could experience negative free cash flow of $105 billion by 2029, raising concerns about the company’s ability to thrive amid heavy financial demands.
