Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) is expanding its AI initiatives and strategic partnerships, announcing a global alliance with KPMG on June 9, 2026, to implement Microsoft 365 Copilot across its workforce of over 276,000. At the same time, Atos Group is rolling out Microsoft 365 Copilot E7 to its 56,000 employees globally. These actions are part of a broader strategy as MSFT continues to enhance its agentic AI capabilities.

During the Build 2026 event, Microsoft revealed early access to Azure Cobalt 200 Arm-based virtual machines, which offer 50% better performance compared to their predecessor, with deployment across 10 regions. Q3 fiscal 2026 results highlighted revenues of $82.9 billion—an 18% year-over-year increase—with $54.5 billion attributed to Microsoft Cloud, while the AI sector surpassed a $37 billion annualized run rate, growing by 123%. Microsoft 365 Copilot has now reached 20 million paid seats.

Despite these advancements, cost pressures persist, with Microsoft Cloud’s gross margin expected to decline to approximately 64% in Q4 fiscal 2026 due to ongoing AI investments. Forecasted revenues for the fourth quarter range between $86.7 billion and $87.8 billion, with capital expenditures anticipated to exceed $40 billion for the next quarter.
