Live cattle futures rose by $2.05 to $2.50 at midday on June 26, with prices for June, August, and October Live Cattle at $250.075, $242.150, and $234.625, respectively. Feeder cattle futures also increased, showing gains of $2.10 to $2.60, with August, September, and October prices at $356.275, $353.200, and $349.500, respectively. Meanwhile, cash trade remains pending this week, with last week’s reported prices between $256 and $258.
On the trade front, Mexico suspended imports of cattle from the U.S. due to a rise in screwworm cases, impacting a total of 11,110 head exported to Mexico in 2025. USDA’s estimated cattle slaughter for Tuesday stood at 109,000 head, bringing the weekly total to 211,000 head, which is down 3,000 from last week and 18,963 head below the same week last year.
In beef pricing, Choice boxed beef increased by $1.91 to $394.81, while Select beef rose by 92 cents to $377.85, resulting in a Chc/Sel spread of $16.96.
