Corn Surges Ahead of Wednesday’s Market Close

Corn futures rallied on Friday, with contracts rising between 5 ¼ and 7 ¼ cents. The CmdtyView national average cash corn price increased by 6 ¾ cents to $3.90. Trading for the week concluded on Thursday due to the Juneteenth holiday.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported ethanol production at 1.102 million barrels per day for the week ending June 12, a decrease of 6,000 bpd from the previous week. Ethanol stocks rose by 22,000 barrels to 24.474 million barrels, while exports decreased to 128,000 bpd, down 27,000 bpd.

The USDA Export Sales report indicated sales of 0.7 to 1.4 million metric tons (MMT) of 2025/26 corn for the week ending June 11, with new crop sales estimated between 0.4 and 1.2 MMT.
