Cattle Prices Show Modest Increase by Wednesday Afternoon

**Live cattle futures showed gains on Wednesday, increasing by 67 cents to $1.20, while feeder cattle futures rose by $2.15 to $2.20. At the Fed Cattle Exchange, 1,520 head were offered but no sales occurred, with bids ranging from $252 to $255 nationwide.**

**Wholesale boxed beef prices declined, with choice boxes down 19 cents to $392.97, and select boxes dropping $1.10 to $370.58. USDA’s estimated federally inspected cattle slaughter for Tuesday was 110,000 head, bringing the weekly total to 214,000, which is 24,022 head lower than the same week last year.**

**Current prices include August live cattle at $243.100, October at $237.825, and December at $237.400. For feeder cattle, August is at $366.775, September at $364.725, and October at $361.825.**
