Anthropic, the company behind the Claude family of AI models, has confidentially filed its Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on June 1, 2026, as it prepares for a potential IPO later this year. The filing follows a funding round in May that valued the company at approximately $965 billion. Predictions suggest a 57% chance of an IPO announcement before November 1 and a 76% likelihood before the end of the year.

Amazon has invested $13 billion in Anthropic, holding a stake of 15% to 21%, with plans for an additional $20 billion contingent upon meeting certain milestones. Meanwhile, Alphabet has committed over $43 billion, holding an estimated 14% to 15% stake valued at roughly $135 billion. Both tech giants are also invested in integrating their services, with Anthropic relying on AWS for infrastructure and Google’s TPUs for AI processing.
