AMD’s data center revenue surpassed Intel’s for the first time in Q1 2026, generating $5.8 billion compared to Intel’s $5.1 billion. This marks a significant shift in the competitive landscape of the data center market, with AMD’s revenue increasing 57% year-over-year, while Intel’s grew 22%. AMD’s total revenue rose 38% to $10.3 billion, solidifying its position as the fastest-growing segment of the company.
Despite generating larger overall revenues of over $50 billion in the past year compared to AMD’s roughly $37 billion, Intel continues to face profitability challenges, largely due to investments in its manufacturing processes. Its stock has dropped 21% recently, amid expectations that its much-anticipated 18A manufacturing technology may not achieve profitable yields until 2027. Meanwhile, AMD is enjoying a 250% increase in share price over the past year, underscoring its robust growth and profit margins above 50%.
