Shopify’s AI initiatives, particularly through its Sidekick tool, have resulted in a fourfold increase in weekly active stores utilizing the platform year-over-year. Moreover, AI-driven orders from Shopify increased eightfold in the same timeframe, with Q1 2026 gross merchandise volume reaching $100.74 billion, marking a 35% yearly growth. The company anticipates a revenue growth rate of approximately 20% for Q2 2026.
Both companies show notable valuation metrics: Meta trades at a forward price-to-sales ratio of 5.31, while Shopify’s stands at 10.16. As of now, Meta’s year-to-date shares have decreased by 10.1%, while Shopify’s have dropped 19%.
