Cotton futures experienced gains on Monday, with increases ranging from 36 to 85 points. The latest Crop Progress report indicated that as of Sunday, 88% of the U.S. cotton crop had squared, aligning with the five-year average; 55% of the crop is now setting bolls, with 4% already opening. Cotton condition ratings declined to 42% good/excellent, down 4 percentage points from the previous week.
On the trading front, the Cotlook A Index increased by 125 points to 90 cents, while ICE certified cotton stocks fell by 3,093 bales due to decertification, bringing the total to 87,606 bales. The Adjusted World Price rose by 84 points to 64.66 cents per pound. Key closing prices for cotton included: October at 81.35 cents (+85 points), December at 82.57 cents (+78 points), and March 2027 at 84.13 cents (+77 points).
