Cotton prices saw early losses on Thursday, falling by 3 to 6 points after a rise of 48 to 71 points by Wednesday’s close. The Cotlook A Index increased by 90 points on Tuesday, reaching 93.70 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks decreased by 1,739 bales as of August 4, now totaling 84,632 bales. The Adjusted World Price rose by 84 points last week to 64.66 cents per pound, valid through Thursday.
In related commodities, crude oil prices dropped by 69 cents per barrel, while the US dollar index fell by $0.189. Meanwhile, the NOAA’s 7-day QPF report highlights ongoing dryness in much of Texas, with minimal rainfall expected across the Gulf and up to one inch in parts of Georgia.
