SpaceX and Meta Platforms: Who Will Join the $2 Trillion Club First?

Key Financial Insights on SpaceX and Meta Platforms

Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX) is currently valued at approximately $1.45 trillion, having peaked at $2 trillion shortly after its IPO in June. In contrast, Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) has consistently remained below the $2 trillion threshold, currently valued around $1.5 trillion.

To join the elite $2 trillion club, either company must increase its valuation by at least 33%. Recently, SpaceX reported a 92% year-over-year revenue growth for Q2, driven by AI and connectivity, despite a net loss of $541 million. Meta’s revenue grew 28% year-over-year, generating a profit of $15.8 billion, although this is down from $18.3 billion a year prior.

Valuation metrics reveal a significant disparity: SpaceX trades at about 45 times sales, while Meta’s valuation stands at 6.6 times sales. This suggests that while SpaceX shows faster growth potential, Meta’s lower price-to-sales ratio may make it more likely to hit the $2 trillion mark first.
