Lockheed Martin reported a 6% year-over-year increase in Space sales, reaching $3.5 billion in Q2 2026, driven primarily by higher volumes in Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) and Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) programs. The NGI program is crucial for the U.S. Missile Defense Agency and aims to enhance homeland missile defense capabilities. Lockheed Martin has also expanded its production capacity with a new 88,000-square-foot facility in Alabama for NGI.

The company plans to invest $8-$9 billion in its manufacturing network by 2030 to meet rising demand for advanced missile defense systems. Additionally, in May 2026, Lockheed was selected by the U.S. Space Force to develop capabilities for the Space-Based Interceptor program, aimed at bolstering the nation’s missile defense architecture.
