CoreWeave Reports Surge in Revenue Amid Challenges
CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV) announced second-quarter results on August 11, 2023, revealing a revenue increase of 112.5% year over year, amounting to $2.6 billion. Despite an operating loss of $49 million and a net loss per share of $1.14, both metrics showed improvement from the previous quarter. The company reported a substantial revenue backlog of $104 billion, up 4.6% sequentially and 245.5% year over year, signaling strong demand in the AI cloud computing market.
While CoreWeave’s customer concentration poses a risk—67% of its revenue in fiscal 2025 coming from a single client—the company is well-positioned for growth. Analysts expect revenue to reach $12.63 billion by the end of 2026, more than double the previous year’s figure. Following its quarterly update, CoreWeave’s stock surged 20%.
