Rivian Automotive Reports Strong Q2 Financials
Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ: RIVN) reported a record gross profit of nearly $180 million with an 11% gross margin for Q2 2023. The company ended the quarter with $5.3 billion in cash and equivalents, which increased to approximately $7.2 billion when including additional funding sources. Rivian expects future liquidity to reach about $14 billion, bolstering its position as it plans to ramp up production for its R2 model and pursue advanced driverless technologies.
The company also achieved a 39% increase in its Rivian Spaces and a 104% surge in demo drives, totaling over 57,000 during the quarter. Management raised its full-year delivery guidance and narrowed its EBITDA loss guidance, signaling confidence in its growth trajectory. Rivian is on track for the medium-term rollout of its Autonomy+ feature, aiming for Level 4 autonomous capabilities by 2028.
