Cotton Prices Rise This Monday Morning

Cotton prices rose by 34 to 47 points on Monday morning, following a rally on Friday where front month futures gained 116 to 130 points. As of August 13, the Cotlook A Index remained steady at 94.95 cents, while ICE certified cotton stocks decreased by 1,779 bales to a total of 75,985 bales. The Adjusted World Price increased by 190 points to 68.19 cents per pound.

Key data from the Commitment of Traders report indicates that managed money added 10,591 contracts to their net long position in cotton futures and options, bringing the total to 78,870 contracts, the highest level in over two years. Additionally, export sales data shows that 2025/26 accumulated export business stands at 11.977 million RB, which is 107% of the USDA export projection.
