Soybean Prices Surge on Monday Morning

On Monday morning, soybean futures are trading with 4 to 5 cent gains following Friday’s increases where they posted gains of 5.5 to 11.75 cents across most contracts. The cmdtyView national average cash bean price rose by 10.75 cents to $11.50. The USDA announced a private export sale of 136,000 MT of soybeans to China for 2026/27 shipment, contributing to a total of 641,000 MT sold to China last week.

The Commitment of Traders data revealed that managed money cut back 24,104 contracts from their net long position, bringing it down to 101,362 contracts as of August 11. Old crop soybean sales reached 41.79 MMT, or 101% of the USDA forecast. New crop bean sales saw a significant rise with 10.13 MMT, the highest in four years and more than double the same period last year.

Additionally, the National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) is set to release data estimating 221.5 million bushels of soybeans crushed in July, exceeding last year’s figures. China’s Sinograin will auction off 360,000 MT of imported beans on Wednesday.
