Soybean Prices Steady Midday Following Tuesday’s Gains

Soybean prices are experiencing gains, with September 26 contracts rising by 4 cents to $12.05, and nearby cash prices up 5.5 cents at $11.81. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported a private export sale of 136,000 metric tons of soybeans to China for the 2026/27 season.

The ProFarmer Crop Tour, which began on Monday, revealed South Dakota’s pod counts averaging 945.98 per 3-foot square, marking a 20.4% decrease from last year. In Ohio, pod counts were reported at 1,197.25 bushels per acre, down 6.99% from the previous year. The USDA’s weekly Crop Progress data showed that by August 16, 96% of the U.S. soybean crop was blooming, with 85% setting pods, five percentage points above the five-year average.

Brazil’s soybean exports are projected to be 10.56 million metric tons, a decrease of 0.32 million metric tons from the previous week.
