AI Concerns Propel High-Yield Fund to New Heights While Remaining Affordable

Recent market analysis reveals growing concerns about a potential decline in the AI sector, particularly linked to foundational semiconductor stocks. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) has dropped 11% from its peak in late June. However, signs indicate that AI demand remains strong, underscored by Anthropic’s staggering 1,400% revenue growth, jumping from $787 million to $11.5 billion.

A notable investment option is the BlackRock Technology and Private Equity Term Trust (BTX), which boasts a 6.9% yield and offers exposure to leading AI companies like NVIDIA and Micron Technology. Currently, BTX is trading at a discount of approximately 9.3% to its net asset value, which has narrowed from 10.7% just a week ago.

Growth statistics further support AI’s robust trajectory, with the application Codex increasing its user base from 5 million to 15 million in just a matter of weeks. The disparity in AI spending, with median company expenditure significantly lower than that of top AI investors, indicates that the sector is still in an early adoption phase, which may signal further growth opportunities.
