Key Points
Billionaire hedge fund manager Stanley Druckenmiller of the Duquesne Family Office adjusted his portfolio in the second quarter by reducing his stake in Sandisk (NASDAQ: SNDK) while significantly investing in three major AI-related companies: Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE: TSM), Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG), and Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN). These moves occurred based on financial filings made public 45 days after the end of the quarter, marking a strategic shift for the fund.
In Q2, Druckenmiller increased his investment in Taiwan Semiconductor by 19%, making it the second-largest holding in his portfolio. His firm also expanded its stake in Amazon to nearly 3% and introduced Alphabet as a new position, making up 2.75% of the portfolio. Both Amazon and Alphabet plan to allocate at least $200 billion on capital expenditures this year, primarily for data center expansion, to accommodate rising AI compute demands.
