The S&P 500 is projected to experience a robust earnings increase of 22.6% in Q3 2026 compared to the previous year, driven by a 10.9% rise in revenues. This forecast indicates that 14 out of 16 Zacks sectors are expected to see positive earnings growth, with five sectors achieving double-digit increases. The earnings growth trend has remained strong and broad-based, marking the best performance in a considerable time.

Additionally, since the beginning of Q3 in July, earnings estimates have improved for half of the 16 sectors, reflecting a sustained positive revision trend. Key contributors to this growth are companies like Alphabet (GOOGL), Micron (MU), and Nvidia (NVDA), which significantly boost the Tech sector’s performance, with Q3 earnings for the sector anticipated at +39.3%. Excluding these firms, earnings would only reflect an +18.9% growth.
