Nvidia Invests $21 Billion in SpaceX
Nvidia has acquired a $21 billion stake in Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX), making it the company’s second-largest position, following Intel. The investment was revealed in a recent SEC filing. Overall, Nvidia’s stock portfolio now totals $63.4 billion, out of its $80.6 billion cash reserves.
As of now, 75% of Nvidia’s portfolio is concentrated in just two stocks: Intel, making up 44.2%, and SpaceX, at 30.9%. This marks a significant increase from March when Nvidia held $18.4 billion in stocks, primarily due to a surge in Intel’s value and the new SpaceX investment.
Nvidia purchased 122.7 million shares of SpaceX, which currently trades at approximately $139 per share, slightly above the IPO price of $135. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk have previously expressed mutual admiration for each other’s companies, further solidifying their partnership.
