Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) reported a significant second-quarter revenue increase of 28% year-over-year, reaching $60.8 billion. Despite this growth, the company’s stock trades approximately 27% below its record closing price of $790.00, set on August 12, 2025, currently priced at around $579.

Operating expenses surged by 55% to $42.0 billion, resulting in a decline in operating margins from 43% to 31% and a 13% drop in earnings per share to $6.18. Meta anticipates legal expenses of about $10 billion in the upcoming quarter related to recent settlements totaling up to $16.7 billion for misleading advertising claims.

To reclaim its record share price by 2029, Meta would require approximately 14% annualized growth. The company’s advertising revenue continues to grow strongly, with a 14% increase in ad impressions and a 12% rise in average ad pricing, reflecting effective advertising strategies driven by advancements in artificial intelligence.
