**Live cattle futures are experiencing gains of 75 to 95 cents as of Monday, with front-month contracts trading higher. Last week’s cash trade prices for cattle ranged between $220-222. The CME Feeder Cattle Index dropped by 67 cents to $332.80, while the Monday OKC feeder cattle auction estimated around 3,700 head for sale with moderate demand.**
**As of the latest Commitment of Traders data, managed money has reduced its net long positions in live cattle futures by 4,073 contracts, bringing the total to 57,441 contracts. In feeder cattle futures, net long positions have decreased by 1,784 contracts to 5,714.**
**Wholesale Boxed Beef prices have also declined, with Choice boxes down $1.03 to $375.20 and Select boxes down $6.57 to $354.51. The USDA reported last week’s federally inspected cattle slaughter at 542,000 head, which is up 19,000 from the previous week but 24,581 below the same week last year.**
