On Monday, AMD, Cisco, and HUMAIN announced the launch of AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, powered by AMD’s Instinct MI355X graphics processing units (GPUs) and designed to provide computing power for AI model training and execution. This joint venture, initiated in May 2025, aims to deploy an additional 250 MW of AI infrastructure starting in 2027, eventually scaling to 1 gigawatt by 2030.
The partners initially committed up to $10 billion to establish 500 MW of AI capacity, indicating a cost of approximately $20 million per megawatt. AMD’s strong performance was highlighted by its data center segment’s revenue of $6.7 billion in the second quarter, contributing 58% to the company’s total revenue of $11.5 billion, which is on track to grow further in the next quarter.
