**Meta Platforms Launches Muse AI Agent**
Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) launched Muse, its first personal AI agent, on September 8. The app is available for free, with subscription options of $20 and $100 per month for heavier users, targeting a wider audience across iOS, Android, and WhatsApp. Meta’s AI chief stated that most users should find the free tier sufficient for their needs.
The company’s second-quarter revenue was $60.8 billion, with advertising accounting for about 98%. While subscription plans may provide additional revenue, they are not expected to meaningfully impact overall earnings soon, as even with 5 million users at the $20 plan, it would only contribute roughly 0.5% to annual revenue. Meta’s focus remains on its core advertising business, which showed a 27% growth from the previous year.
