December arabica coffee (KCZ26) rose by 1.68%, closing at +4.80 on Monday, while November ICE robusta coffee (RMX26) increased by 0.28%, closing at +10. This price recovery followed a three-week selloff prompted by Brazil’s record coffee exports in August, which surged 31% year-over-year to 4.155 million bags.
Brazil’s arabica exports rose 26% to 2.87 million bags, while robusta exports jumped 54% to 953,592 bags. The International Coffee Organization (ICO) forecasted a record global coffee crop in the 2025/26 season, predicting production at 183.6 million bags, leading to a surplus of 3 million bags. Concerns about El Niño impacting Brazil’s future crop add volatility to the market as traders remain cautious.
