Corn futures were trading lower on Tuesday, with contracts down by up to a penny. The CmdtyView national average cash corn price rose by 3¼ cents to $4.87. As of September 13, 86% of the U.S. corn crop was reported as dented, with 42% mature and 8% of the harvest complete. Corn condition ratings improved to 57% classified as good to excellent, with the Brugler500 index steady at 347.
Data from CONAB revealed an anticipated 2025/26 corn crop in Brazil at 144 million metric tons (MMT), a slight increase of 1.04 MMT compared to previous estimates. The initial estimate for the 2026/27 corn crop is projected at 148 MMT, significantly higher than the USDA’s estimate of 139 MMT.
