Apple’s iPhone 18 Launch Faces Weak Pre-order Demand

Apple’s new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are experiencing “lukewarm” pre-order sales, according to GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu. Pre-orders began on Saturday, with general availability set for Friday. The iPhone 18 Pro is priced at $1,199, while the Pro Max costs $1,299. This disappointing response is attributed to limited feature upgrades and higher price points compared to previous models.

Additionally, Apple is set to introduce its first foldable device, the iPhone Duo, priced at $1,999, which will not start pre-orders until October 16. Analysts suggest that consumers may be delaying purchases of the standard models in anticipation of the Duo’s release. Apple’s third fiscal quarter saw $54.25 billion in iPhone sales, indicating the significant impact of new device launches on the company’s revenue.
