Corn futures fell by 1 to 4.75 cents during Thursday’s trading session, with the CmdtyView national average cash corn price down 3.75 cents at $4.85 1/4 per bushel. The decline was attributed in part to a $1.34 decrease in crude oil prices.

In export sales data for the week ending September 10, corn sales for the 2026/27 season totaled 1.027 million metric tons (MMT), marking a 16.6% decrease from the same week in the previous year. Notably, Mexico topped the list of buyers with 626,000 MT, while Japan purchased 150,200 MT. Additionally, South Korean importers bought a total of 260,000 MT of corn in a recent tender.

The December 2026 corn contract closed at $5.30 1/2, reflecting a 3.75 cent drop, while March and May contracts closed at $5.44 1/2 and $5.50 3/4, respectively, down 4.25 and 4.5 cents.
