Friday Morning Corn Losses Decline

Corn prices are down 2 cents in the front months on Friday, following a Thursday decline of 1 to 4 3/4 cents. Open interest decreased by 8,213 contracts, primarily due to liquidation in the front two contracts. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price is now at $4.85 1/4, a drop of 3 3/4 cents. Crude oil prices also fell by $1.34, contributing to the market’s downward pressure.

In export sales, 1.027 million metric tons (MMT) of corn were sold for the 2026/27 season during the week ending September 10, a 16.6% decrease from the same week last year. Mexico was the leading buyer, importing 626,000 MT, followed by Japan at 150,200 MT. Additionally, South Korean importers purchased a total of 130,000 MT of corn in a recent tender, after acquiring 260,000 MT on Thursday.
