Corn futures declined by 1 to 3 cents on Tuesday, with preliminary open interest falling by 29,200 contracts on Monday. As of September 25, the CmdtyView national average cash corn price is $3.70 1/2, down 1 ¼ cents. The September contract is priced at $3.88, while December corn futures are at $4.09 1/2, marking decreases of 1 ¼ cents and 2 ¾ cents respectively.
As per the USDA’s Crop Progress report, 44% of the corn crop has reached the dent stage, with 7% at maturity, aligning with historical averages. Condition ratings remain steady at 71% good/excellent, and the Brugler500 index decreased by 1 point to 381 following a 1% shift from excellent to good.
