Shopify (SHOP) shares rose 7% on Tuesday following its partnership announcement with Meta Platforms (META), which will introduce Shop Pay checkout capabilities for users of Meta’s Muse AI agent. This integration allows Muse users to browse and make purchases directly from Shopify merchants, positioning Shopify as a key player in AI-driven commerce.

In Q2, Shopify reported a revenue increase of 33% year-over-year to $3.58 billion, with free cash flow rising over 50%. Projections indicate that fiscal 2026 EPS will reach $1.89, with annual sales hitting $15.18 billion, representing a growth of over 61% and 31%, respectively.

Despite the positive growth outlook, concerns about valuation remain, as Shopify currently trades at over 90 times forward earnings, significantly above the industry average of 17 times. Management anticipates continued revenue growth at a low-30% rate in Q3, emphasizing the need for a careful investment approach amidst the post-announcement surge.
