AutoZone, Inc. (AZO) reported a fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 earnings per share of $56.05, marking a 15.1% increase year over year and exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $54.54 by 2.8%. Net sales rose 5.6% to $6.60 billion, though this fell short of the consensus expectation of $6.69 billion. The company’s gross margin expanded to 53.3%, contributing to the profit increase.
Domestic same-store sales increased 1.6% during the quarter, while international same-store sales advanced 10.7% on a reported basis. AutoZone opened 175 stores globally, raising its total store count to 8,031. The company ended the quarter with $326.12 million in cash and $9.08 billion in total debt.
For the fiscal year, AutoZone repurchased 223,000 shares for $697.50 million. Management anticipates sales growth to accelerate in fiscal 2027, driven by improvements in inventory, delivery speed, and customer service.
