Meta Platforms, Inc. (META) will release its Meta VR Glasses, a lightweight virtual reality device priced at $1,299.99, in Spring 2027. The glasses weigh approximately 100 grams and utilize a two-part system with a separate puck for the processor, battery, and storage. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite processor, the device boasts a 5K micro-OLED display and supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
At launch, the Meta VR Glasses will have access to over 75 hand-tracking games and compatibility with the Meta Quest catalog and Touch Plus controllers. Additionally, partnerships with Disney and sports organizations will provide immersive 3D movies and over 100 live sporting events annually. The glasses will also support wireless and USB-C connectivity to Mac and Windows PCs. Meta’s stock closed up 1.02% at $744.10 on Wednesday.
