Meta Platforms Stock Overview

As of now, Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) has shares priced at approximately $721, the highest among the “Magnificent Seven” tech stocks. This price is about 40% more than Microsoft’s and over three times that of Nvidia’s shares. Importantly, Meta has not conducted a stock split since its IPO in 2012, leaving active investors speculating on whether a split might be forthcoming.

Recent Financial Performance

In its second quarter, Meta reported revenue of $60.8 billion, a 28% year-over-year increase, driven predominantly by a 12% rise in average ad pricing. However, ad impression growth decelerated to 14%, down from 19% in the prior quarter. The company continues to position itself amidst evolving dynamics in the tech sector, notably with Alphabet recently entering the Dow Jones Industrial Average in June, leaving Meta and Tesla as the only Magnificent Seven stocks outside of it.
