**MercadoLibre, Inc.** reported significant growth in its MELI credit business for the second quarter of 2026, with its credit portfolio increasing to **$16.4 billion**, a **75% year-over-year rise**. Assets under management also surged by **68%**, reaching **$23.2 billion**. The company emphasized that ecosystemic users—those engaging across both its Marketplace and Mercado Pago—grew by **37%** during this period.
In tandem with credit growth, **2.6 million new Mercado Pago credit cards** were issued, compared to **1.6 million** in the second quarter of 2025. Despite this rapid growth, MercadoLibre maintained a focus on credit quality, reporting non-performing loans at **7%** for the overall portfolio and **4.6%** for credit cards, both near historic lows.
Additionally, the Zacks Consensus Estimate anticipates a **44.6%** year-over-year increase in sales for the current fiscal year, while earnings per share are expected to decline by **0.7%**. For the next fiscal year, projected sales growth stands at **28.9%** with earnings anticipated to grow by **43.3%**.
