Corn Market Stabilizes with Steady Trading on Tuesday

Corn futures are trading steady to slightly lower on Tuesday, with the CmdtyView national average cash price at $4.78 ½, down half a cent. As of September 27, the USDA’s NASS Crop Progress report indicates that 72% of the U.S. corn crop is mature, with the harvest 18% complete, matching the average pace. Crop condition ratings remain stable at 57% good to excellent.

In anticipation of the upcoming Grain Stocks report on Wednesday, traders estimate that September 1 corn stocks will be 1.911 billion bushels, significantly higher than last year’s 1.551 billion bushels but showing a slight decrease from the WASDE forecast for 2025/26.
