Garmin Receives FAA Certification for CJ2 Upgrade
Garmin, symbolized by GRMN, recently announced the imminent securing of a Federal Aviation Administration Supplemental Type Certification to overhaul the cockpit of Cessna’s Citation CJ2.
By introducing G600 TXi flight displays, GTN Xi navigators, and GFC 600 digital autopilot systems, Garmin will swap out the outdated flight deck systems in the CJ2.
The G600 TXi flight display boasts a touch-screen interface, offering advanced primary flight display and multifunction display capabilities.
Moreover, the GTN Xi navigators will enrich light jet flight planning with GPS, navigation, communication capabilities, facilitating the creation of holding patterns, visualization of flight plans, and viewing of airway segments.
The GFC 600 digital autopilot upgrade will elevate in-flight characteristics and operational capabilities for CJ2 pilots, linking en route, terminal, and approach procedures, thereby simplifying pilot workload.
This milestone is expected to attract significant interest from pilots, underscoring the importance of modernizing operations and reducing pilot workloads in this space.

These upgrades further underscore Garmin’s robust Aviation portfolio, signifying the company’s commitment to fortifying its aviation offerings and expanding its clientele base.
Garmin’s GWX 8000 StormOptix Weather Radar with Auto Mode is scheduled for approval for display and control via GTN Xi navigators and TXi flight displays, offering comprehensive weather depiction, streamlined operation, hail and lightning prediction, turbulence detection, and advanced ground clutter suppression.
The company’s improvements to the FltPlan safety management system, including a revamped Flight Risk Assessment Tool and a new safety performance dashboard, empower operators to tailor FRATs for various pilots and aircraft.
Furthermore, Garmin unveiled the GFC 600H Helicopter Flight Control System in an IFR configuration with a Stability Augmentation System, offering collective control and 4-axis capability, which amplifies mission effectiveness and diminishes pilot workload.
In addition, Garmin introduced cost-effective COMM and NAV/COMM radios with a sleek 1.35-inch bezel height form factor, featuring a full-color LCD display, intuitive user interface, and a worldwide frequency database.
