The Billionaire Spat
Tesla Inc CEO Elon Musk took a dig at fellow billionaire Mark Cuban once again, calling him a “crybaby.”
The Verbal Exchange
What Happened: Musk expressed, “People trash me all day. It’s fine. Mark Cuban is a (cry) baby,” in a recent post on X, formerly Twitter. His remark was prompted by comments made by Cuban in an interview with Lex Fridman, insinuating that individuals on X may hesitate to challenge Musk due to his ownership of the platform.
Significance of the Banter
Why It Matters: The ongoing verbal sparring between these two billionaires stretches back several months, intensifying earlier this year during a debate on diversity, equity, and inclusion measures. The feud has further escalated with Musk labeling Cuban as an “insufferable tool” and Cuban retaliating by referring to Musk as a “real bad bitch.”
Despite the escalating war of words, Cuban seemed unperturbed, dubbing the exchange as “fun.”
“I wouldn’t call it a beef. It’s just a bit of fun- it’s fun for me,” shared Cuban in a recent YouTube interview.
Cuban has openly voiced his opinions on the alterations made by Musk on X (formerly Twitter) since its acquisition in 2022.
In December 2022, Cuban criticized Musk, accusing him of acting as the ‘judge and jury’ of Twitter and urged for a ‘Bill of Rights’ on the platform to enhance transparency.
