AES Secures Long-Term Solar Deals for Meta’s Data Centers

(RTTNews) – The AES Corporation (AES) has entered into two long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to supply Meta’s data centers with 650 MW of solar energy. These projects will not only enhance renewable energy capacity but will also create employment opportunities and provide economic benefits to communities in Texas and Kansas.

Urvi Parekh, the Global Head of Energy at Meta, emphasized the significance of these agreements, stating, “These solutions support our goal for 100% clean and renewable energy and will add new generation to the grid in these markets.”

AES further highlighted its commitment to renewable energy by noting that it has signed 10.1 GW of contracts with major global hyperscalers. This includes 7.7 GW of long-term PPAs dedicated to building renewable capacity that meets the energy needs of data centers.
