Nokia Expands AI Networking Efforts
Nokia (NYSE: NOK) is significantly enhancing its position in the AI networking landscape through partnerships with Nvidia and Anduril Industries. In Q1 2026, Nokia reported a 49% year-over-year increase in AI and cloud-related net sales, translating to 1 billion euros ($1.17 billion) in new orders. The company has revised its forecast for AI and cloud growth to a 27% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) through 2028.
Through its collaboration with Nvidia, which included a $1 billion investment, Nokia is developing AI-native radio access networks (RAN) aimed at addressing the growing demands of AI applications. Additionally, Nokia is working with Anduril to implement a counter-unmanned aerial system for the Belgian military, integrating private 5G technologies to enhance military communications capabilities.
With shares up nearly 105% year-to-date as of May 12, 2026, Nokia is transforming from a traditional telecom supplier to a key player in AI infrastructure, diversifying its revenue streams and entering lucrative markets in both commercial and defense sectors amid rising global demand.
