Alphabet’s Market Cap Race
Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) is approximately $1 trillion away from the $5 trillion market cap club, trailing Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), which is just over $200 billion short. As of Q1 2026, Alphabet has a net income of $160 billion, which supports a higher valuation, while Apple’s growth appears constrained.
Alphabet’s valuation is currently in line with the S&P 500, trading at around 25.5 times trailing earnings, compared to Apple’s significantly higher multiples. If the market reassesses Apple’s valuation, it may struggle to reach the $5 trillion threshold, a target that Alphabet could achieve more easily based on its financial fundamentals.
