Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN), has signed a significant agreement with Meta Platforms, Inc. (META) to deploy AWS Graviton processors at scale, marking a major expansion of their ongoing partnership. The deployment will start with tens of millions of Graviton cores and can scale as Meta’s AI capabilities grow.

The Graviton5 processors are designed for CPU-intensive workloads, enabling Meta to handle billions of interactions and complex, multi-step workflows necessary for real-time reasoning, code generation, and search. This reflects a notable shift in AI infrastructure towards heightened demand for such CPU-intensive tasks, alongside traditional GPU capabilities.

As of pre-market trading, AMZN shares were trading at $259.48, up 1.8%, while META shares were at $662.30, up 0.54% on the Nasdaq.
