Amazon’s Investment in Anthropic

Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) has reported over $50 billion in non-operating pretax income linked to its $13 billion investment in Anthropic, which now holds a carrying value of approximately $190 billion as its valuation approaches $1 trillion. This financial gain is complemented by a long-term partnership in which Anthropic commits to spending over $100 billion on AWS technologies and Amazon’s custom Trainium chips within the next ten years.

Alphabet’s Stake in SpaceX

Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) holds a mid-single-digit-percentage stake in SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX), which is now valued between $80 billion to $90 billion following the company’s historic IPO on June 12. SpaceX’s shares debuted at $135, and its market valuation currently fluctuates between $1.7 trillion and $1.9 trillion. While this stake has transitioned to a liquid asset, much of Alphabet’s position remains locked up, limiting management’s flexibility to capitalize on gains as the phased release of insider shares continues over the next year.
